First day at School - 7th Grade

Today is first day at School for my 7th Grade. Got new set of school dresses, shoes, school bag and supplied. Mom dropped us at the school. Our class teacher name is Veena Madam and she takes our History class. There are 26 students in my class with 8 girl students. Happy to note that most of the girl students I am acquainted with. 

Republic day celebrations at Orchids 2016

Vishnu and SrinIdhi participated in singing patriotic songs. Sang few
songs with fellow community friends. Mom oversee the practice sessions
and helped us to sing in chorus.

Got gold medal in Karnataka state level chess tournament

Karnataka state level inter-school chess tournament has been held in
our Greenwood high school in Feb 1st week.

Our chess teacher Somnath Sir conducted selection matches running up
to the event. I got selected to be part of the TeamC from our school.
I won all the individual matches and won the gold medal. However, my
team got overall 2nd prize.

I was happy about my performance in the event.

CodeGirl workshop in daddy's office

Participated in a codegirl workshop in daddy's office. The had showed
us a movie CodeGirl on how few girl teams competed for a coding
challenge across the world and few selected ideas were called for
finals in San Francisco.
After the presentation, we had pizza and headed to different tracks. I
was placed in the android app development track and learnt how to
develop a simple app without much programming. Built the app,
installed in my android tablet. It was amazing to see it and planning
to do more apps in the coming months.

Our science fair project

Our 6th grade girls team presented how the rainwater harvesting. In
simple terms, it is collecting rain water, store them in tanks or
recharge the ground water pits and reuse them later. Water is a
precious resource that we need to preserve every bit of it. There are
various ways rainwater can be harvested and we built a basic model to
explain this concept. Presented this in the school science fair..

"music in the day
music in the night
makes me relax all through the night

music in the leaves
music in the wheels
makes me dance on my feet

music makes me move
music makes me groove
will make me shine like a moon

music makes me happy
music makes me a buddy
because of which i have lots of friends

music makes me drool
music keeps me cool
will wake me up when i am low and down

music is my life
music keeps me alive
when i feel i cant survive"

Mom came up with this poem to help me in my homework. This being mom's first poem, she did pretty well. This grabbed the first prize for me in my 4th grade class. Thank you Mom!

Now, vishnu is using the same for his 4th grade assignment.
